Proper Tube Preparation
Proper, consistent tube end preparation is one of the critical processes in creating a leak-tight tube fitting connection. When properly performed, the four steps shown in this video of cutting, deburring, cleaning, and inspecting will minimize any leakage in your connections caused by improper tube end preparation.
Some of the most common problems we see in the field are the result of tubing that has not been prepared correctly, which creates issues for proper sealing on a tube fitting as well as burrs being pushed downstream into soft materials inside valves and regulators. Spend the extra minute or two upfront to avoid costly damage and downtime in the future.
